Your virtual backyard bird environment

The "Live Backyard Birdcam" is a method of viewing my backyard bird feeders with a sophisticated camera that can be controlled over the Internet. The camera has pan and zoom controls that can be manipulated with a Web browser.

The camera was set up in January 2007 on my web site: www.davenation.com. In addition to the direct connection to the camera, I have two other methods of access to the birdcam images: The first is a Yahoo Widget that shows a smaller version of the image that updates every 10 seconds. It is available at widgets.yahoo.com. Search for "Live Backyard Birdcam". Another method I recently added is a Gadget on iGoogle. If you use the iGoogle dashboard, you can display a birdcam gadget that again updates every 10 seconds.

And last but not least I have a second older camera in the upstairs of the house showing an overview of the backyard including the bird feeders, a stream and sometimes lake and wooded area. It is also available from my website. This camera will pan but doesn't have an optical zoom.

There are also direct links to the cameras at:

I enjoy getting feedback about the cameras and welcome any suggestions on improvements.
